This organization is very proud of its volunteer team which includes our board members, officers, program coordinators, and other volunteer workers. We are grateful to each Volunteer, for their time, commitment and desire to help the many orphaned children in Ukraine. An Orphan Smiles would not be where it is today without our volunteer help.

WEBLOG EDITOR

An Orphan Smiles is looking for a volunteer to maintain our weblog. The weblog is accessible from the LATEST NEWS tab on the bottom tier of our website homepage (http://anorphansmiles.blogspot.com/). It also very often appears as a result of a Google search by people interested in orphanages, orphans or Ukraine. It consists of blog entries of interest and usually includes a photo. AOS would like to have someone who can keep the weblog up to date with items of interest originally posted on the Yahoo Discussion Group or from photos shared in our Shutterfly albums. Time commitment would probably consists of 2 - 3 hours a month and good communication and writing skills.

VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR

An Orphan Smiles is seeking a dedicated Volunteer to take on the role of Volunteer Coordinator. This person would manage or oversee volunteer positions. An Orphan Smiles needs someone that will work closely with the Board to determine volunteer needs and to help recruit volunteers as needed to further our Mission. The Volunteer Coordinator will also serve as the initial "go to" person for new volunteers and help answer questions. Longer term the Volunteer Coordinator will assist the Board with developing an organizational structure as An Orphan Smiles continues to grow.

AUDITOR - CPA

An Orphan Smiles is seeking Volunteer services of a Certified Public Account to perform a basic financial review of our financial records for 2010. For more information please contact the AOS treasurer at treasurer@AnOrphanSmiles.org.

SPONSOR SCOUTS

Each year there are Orphans who age out of the three Orphanages that we help. There is a real need for several volunteers to become "sponsor scouts". These volunteers would be individuals who can help find sponsors for specific students. The volunteer would be assigned one or two GAP students at a time and their responsibility would be to find individuals who would be interested in participating in our GAP Program as Sponsors. (The role involves specifically finding sponsors not being a sponsor.)

WEBSITE PROOFREADER

A Volunteer is need to regularly review the website and look for pages that appear outdated, topics or program descriptions that need updating, links that might not work, recommends some new photos to add, etc. The proofreader would forward fixes to the AOS webmaster and/or recommendations to the Board.

LETTER WRITING TO ORPHANED CHILDREN

If you are fluent in written Russian and/or Ukrainian, we have a special ongoing project for you. During the time while many orphaned children await sponsorship, they also need to know that they are cared and thought of. We are looking for letter writers, who would enjoy writing simple letters in Russian/Ukrainian to these children. These letters would ideally be decorated with color, stickers, and drawings if possible. Time commitment is approximately 1-2 hours each week, or less.

SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATOR

We are in need of someone who would enjoy keeping our Facebook Group, Twitter and Wish Upon A Hero sites current with our latest news and updates. In addition, this person would enjoy the research and development of a monthly, “Did You Know?” segment on the message board, related to general information about Ukraine, its history, demographics, regions, orphanages. If this volunteer role speaks to you, please let us know. Time commitment is approximately 1-2 hours each week.
